The Ecuadorian Army received 709 logistics support vehicles during a recent ceremony at Ft Huancavilca in Guayaquil, according to a report by janes.com.
The vehicles will be used to transport troops and equipment, as well as to respond to civilian needs such as rescue, evacuation, and protection from natural disasters, according to the report.
The 709 HOWO-series vehicles were procured from the China National Heavy Duty Truck Import and Export Corporation (CNHTC) through a package announced by the Ecuadorian government at US $81 million, according to the report.
