Sorbon Transport of Aurora, Colorado, failed to properly inspect and maintain its equipment, did not ensure drivers complied with hours-of-service rules and did not comply with drug testing rules, FMCSA says.

The agency launched an investigation into the carrier after roadside inspectors found eight separate out-of-service violations and six other maintenance-related violations during an inspection earlier this month.

Several days later, a different Sorbon truck in a roadside inspection was found to have two out-of-service violations and 12 other maintenance-related violations.

In its investigation, FMCSA says Sorbon could not provide proper duty status records, and the records it did have showed hours-of-service violations.

The carrier also could not provide investigators with records of drug and alcohol tests.

The imminent hazard out-of-service order for Sorbon was announced Feb. 18.
