The 2015 Technology and Maintenance Council was held last week in Nashville, Tenn., where industry manufacturers like Cummins, Michelin, Meritor, Dana and others made announcements about new products or services.
Editors for Overdrive sister site CCJ covered the event live — here’s a link to all of the announcements made at TMC.
Notable announcements include:
Cummins and Eaton push for even stronger integration: Building on what they said has been a successful venture with their SmartAdvantage powertrain partnership, Cummins and Eaton said at TMC they will be furthering the partnership with more planning and more integration. The two companies built the powertrain pairing for fuel economy, and they said fleets who have spec’d the trucks so far have reported mpg gains. Michelin unveils digital tire monitoring program: Michelin says its Michelin Tire Care program will allow Michelin users access to data to help better understand their tire performance and to help control costs. Michelin says the tool can help reduce roadside service calls, boost CSA scores and help increase fuel economy. Click here to read coverage of the announcement.
Meritor introduces tractor-optimized tire pressure monitoring system: Though TPMS are commonplace for trailers in the industry today, the market is short on TPMS for tractors, Meritor says. It previewed its new tractor-focused TPMS at TMC last week, expected to arrive in North America late next year or early 2017. Click here to read coverage of the TPMS.
