Beautiful is described in many ways but I believe real beauty is from the inside. I love to make people smile. Dolly Parton once said if you see someone without a smile give them yours, so I try to make every one I meet whether it be another truck driver or a yard jockey or the shipper smile because you never know how good a warm smile will do. I have dreamed of being a trucker since I was 5 riding by my daddy holding his arm as he shifted gears in a bull rack, in 2002 the road took its toll on daddy heart attack and diabetes took the road from him and that’s when I knew I had some mighty big shoes to fill. In and out of first one truck then another, I started where ever I could jumping through hoops here and there to land a wonderful job I have now. I stay out 6 to 8 weeks longest time out being 3 months. This is home for me. It’s where I belong. Hauling dry box was not my dream, but after getting hired on through another female driver I found the company of a lifetime. Winning this would be like winning miss American to a cheerleader. It would be a dream come true. Trucking comes with its down sides but world champion bull rider Lane Frost once said don’t be afraid to go after what you want to to do and what you want to be but don’t be afraid to be willing to pay the price. I wake up every morning looking at a brand new sunrise. That’s close enough to heaven for me.
