Yep, Washington State. Gordon Trucking Inc., headquartered in Pacific, won the Fleet Safety Awards for the large fleet divisions in both Illinois and Indiana. Brett Terchila, vice president of operations for Gordon’s Eastern region, credited the recognitions to the organization’s safety culture of “working together to place safety at the forefront of everything we do. We owe thanks to our driving associates for their continued professionalism and commitment to our core values of safety, service and sustainability.”
Gordon Trucking also has received state safety awards this year from Oregon and California, so if there’s any more state trucking groups hosting safety awards ceremonies this year, I’ve putting my money on Gordon.
Next, if you’re looking for a company that’s bouncing up pay for everyone that works behind the wheel, look no further that Rosemount, Minn.-based Bay & Bay Transportation, which recently rolled out its second pay raise this year for its company, lease-purchase and owner-operator drivers. The latest pay raise brings its driver base pay range to 41 to 45 cents per mile depending on length of tenure with previous companies.
