I-75 work continues in wake of Saturday Detroit tanker fire

Following a Sunday fuel-tanker explosion on I-75 NB at the I-375 interchange, reports the Michigan Department of Transportation, work began Tuesday morning on the I-75 NB Fisher Freeway ramp to I-75 Chrysler Freeway, which remained closed. Repairs are expected to be ongoing through Friday, weather permitting, MDOT says.

About 300 feet by 15 feet of damaged concrete will be replaced on the ramp and temporary concrete barriers will be placed along the shoulders of the ramp until repairs can be made to the barrier walls at a later date. This will allow the ramp to be reopened to traffic sometime late Friday.
