Toyota Motor Sales USA is recalling approximately 3,000 2015 model-year Lexus NX 200t SUVs because of their potential for losing vehicle stability.
The recalled vehicles are equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control system (TRAC) and vehicle stability control system (VSC) that are all controlled by the ABS actuator. Because of potential damage suffered during assembly, a component inside the actuator is at risk for malfunctioning. Under some driving conditions, if the ABS is activated, this defect could cause a loss of vehicle stability. As a result, the risk of a crash could increase, Toyota said.
Toyota noted, however, it isn’t aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by this condition. To fix the problem, Lexus dealers will inspect the ABS actuator and, if necessary, replace it with a new one.
