Tenn. Revives Rebates for EVs, Plug-In Hybrids

The state of Tennessee has re-started a rebate program for battery-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids after shutting it down more than two years ago, reports Nashville Public Radio.

The rebate program was restarted after officials found $682,000 left in the fund. Starting June 15, the program will offer $2,000 for the purchase of EVs and $1,500 for the purchase of plug-in hybrids.

The state initially had set aside $2.5 million for the program five years ago. The rebates are limited to state residents, and the vehicle must be purchased at a Tennessee dealership.
