Google is planning to roll out a new wave of autonomous vehicles, after acquiring additional permits from the state of California, according to a report by PC World.
Google has secured permits for 25 additional vehicles, bringing its driverless vehicle fleet to 48 vehicles.
Google will use the additional 25 permits for a new fleet of prototype cars that are undergoing testing on private roads. The cars, tiny two-seaters, are designed for neighborhood driving and have a top speed of 25 miles per hour. They’ll be hitting public streets some time over the summer near Google’s headquarters in Mountain View.
