As part of the ongoing M-1 Rail Project, reported the Michigan Department of Transportation, crews will be rebuilding parts of M-1 (Woodward Avenue) and demolishing the bridge over I-94. The demolition will require I-94 to be closed between M-10 (Lodge Freeway) and I-75, along with ramps, from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
Both directions of I-94 will be impact. EB I-94 traffic will be detoured via the SB Lodge Freeway to NB I-75 back to EB I-94. WB I-94 traffic will be detoured via SB I-75 and NB Lodge Freeway for the duration of the closure.
The WB I-94 ramp to Beaubien Street and Woodward will close with traffic detoured via SB I-75 and WB Mack Avenue to Beaubien Street and Woodward.
NB and SB I-75 ramps to WB I-94 will be closed and detoured:**NB I-75 traffic will be detoured via WB Davison Freeway and SB Lodge Freeway.
**SB I-75 traffic will be detoured via NB Lodge.
EB and WB I-96 ramps to EB I-94 will be closed and detoured:
**EB I-96 traffic via NB I-75.
**WB I-96 traffic via the Joy Road exit, then EB I-96 and NB I-75.
**NB I-75 traffic (and Ambassador Bridge traffic) will be detoured to EB I-94.
Local ramps to I-94 in the area are also affected by the closure and detours are in place.
