The Braun Corp., based in Indiana, is recalling 2,461 modified Chrysler and Dodge vehicles because their certification labels may display inaccurate gross vehicle weight ratings as well as front and rear gross axle weight ratings, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
The recalled vehicles, modified for wheelchair accessibility, are in the 2013-2015 model years. They were manufactured from Dec. 19, 2012, to May 5 of this year.
The false ratings increase the risk of vehicle overloading and represent a violation of federal safety standards, NHTSA said. Braun dealers will provide corrected certification labels, free of charge.
Vehicle owners can reach Braun at (800) 488-0359.
