Carolina small fleet scores back-to-back wins in ChampTruck racing series

Jupiter Enterprises’ Allen Boles’ Peterbilt 359 racer took first in the points-earning race at this weekend’s ChampTruck races outside of St. Louis.

Ten-truck fleet Jupiter Enterprises out of the Charlotte, N.C.-area earned its second win in the inaugural season of the Meritor ChampTruck World Series truck racing circuit this weekend in Granite City, Ill., at the Gateway Motorsports Park.

Jupiter’s head man Allen Boles won the weekend’s points-earning Podium Race on Sunday in his No. 3 Peterbilt 359-based racer, following up on a win by his teammate Ricky Proffitt, who races the No. 14 Peterbilt, from the July 4 weekend Charlotte-held races.

Hungarian racer Krisztian Szabo, who raced the No. 11 Optima Batteries Freightliner following a crash with his No. 23 Bendix-sponsored Volvo, placed second in the Podium Race. Mack tech Mike Morgan out of the Nashville, Tenn., area came in third, racing his No. 88 Mack.

The Gateway race weekend was ChampTruck’s fifth since its opening weekend in April. At the season’s end — set for Halloween weekend in Las Vegas — both a driver points champion and a team points champion will be named.

The next racing event will be held at the Virginia International Raceway Aug. 6-9.

ChampTruck also announced this month it has cancelled the late August race that was set to be held at the Texas Motor Speedway.
