Despite a downpour and a slick wet track, small fleet owner Allen’ Boles’ Jupiter Motorsports team picked up its first win in the 2015 Meritor ChampTruck World Series race held Independence Day weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The No. 14 Peterbilt 379 driven by Ricky “Rude” Proffitt took first in the weekend’s points-earning podium race, held July 4. Minimizer’s Brad Klemmensen won second in the No. 54 Volvo, and Tommy Boileau, in the No. 23 Volvo, won third.This was the fourth race in the inaugural season of the truck racing series, which will crown both a team points champion and a driver points champion at season’s end.
The next ChampTruck races will be held this weekend, July 17-19, at Gateway Motorsports Park outside of St. Louis, Mo.
ChampTruck also announced last week it has cancelled the late August race that was set to be held at the Texas Motor Speedway.
