Google's new parent subsidiary, Alphabet, shares its name with a BMW fleet services business that plans to retain Alphabet.com rather that selling the domain to the Silicon Valley company, the New York Times reports.

The company provides fleet funding options such as operating leases, financial leases, and sale and leaseback; a variety of fleet management services such as maintenance, fuel managment, and accident management; and advanced mobility solutions such as car sharing and mobile apps.

The BMW Group established Alphabet International in 1997 in the United Kingdom as a fleet management subsidiary. in 2013, the company reached 500,000 vehicles under its management.
