Fuel prices down 1.7 cents from last week

After a hiccup last week that caused diesel prices to rise slightly, the price of a gallon of on-highway diesel dropped 1.7 cents this week to bring them almost back to where they were two weeks ago before the increase.

The price of a gallon of diesel is now $2.517 nationwide. Prices decreased in all regions across the U.S.

The largest decrease came in the Gulf Coast region, where prices dropped 2.3 cents, followed by the Central Atlantic region, where prices dropped 2.2 cents.

The most expensive diesel in the country can be found in California at $2.863 per gallon, followed by the Central Atlantic region at $2.694 per gallon.

The cheapest diesel can be found in the Gulf Coast region at $2.362 per gallon, followed by the Lower Atlantic region at $2.468 per gallon.

Prices in other regions are as follows:

  • New England – $2.653
  • Midwest – $2.471
  • Rocky Mountain – $2.554
  • West Coast less California – $2.571
