Overnight lane closures: Upcoming in Michigan and Virginia; Nashville I-40 shutdown repeat

The Virginia Department of Transportation’s I-64 widening project will produce a series of lane and ramp closures next week, Sunday, Sept. 20, through Thursday, Sept. 24. All construction work is dependent upon weather conditions, VDOT says.

The closures will take place each night at 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning in th ese areas:

**East- and westbound right lane closures between Fort Eustis Boulevard (exit 250) and Jefferson Avenue (exit 255). Crews will be conducting milling and paving work in the shoulder lane. One travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times.

**Also on Thursday, Sept. 24, 9 p.m. through 5 a.m.: the Fort Eustis Boulevard (exit 250B) westbound ramp will close for soil surveys. A detour will be in place, VDOT says.

The Michigan Department of Transportation, too, announced lane closures for Monday, Sept. 21, on I-94 in Washtenaw County. Two lanes are planned to close on westbound I-94 between Rawsonville Road (Exit 187) and Wiard Road.

The double lane closure will take place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning and is needed for joint work.

The closure with be in place today, Friday, at 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. Monday morning, Tennessee Department of Transportation officials say.
