Diesel prices dropped an average of 3.7 cents across the United States during the week ending Monday, Nov. 23, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly report.
The average price of a gallon of on-highway diesel is now $2.445 nationwide, the lowest price of 2015, as well as the lowest since June 1, 2009.
Prices dropped in all regions across the country with the most significant decrease coming in the Midwest region, where prices dropped 5.3 cents.
The nation’s most expensive fuel is in California at $2.733 per gallon, followed by the Central Atlantic region at $2.585 per gallon.
The cheapest diesel in the U.S. is in the Gulf Coast region at $2.28 per gallon, followed by the Lower Atlantic region at $2.37 per gallon.
Prices in other regions are as follows:
- New England – $2.469
- Midwest – $2.441
- Rocky Mountain – $2.474
- West Coast less California – $2.555
