Audi has acknowledged it will introduce a Q2 compact SUV and next-generation Q5 mid-size SUV in 2016. Audi will introduce its first "first large‑series battery‑electric vehicle" in 2018.
Audi is filling out its utility lineup. The automaker has earlier announced it would unveil the Q1 compact crossover in 2016. Audi is planning to devote "a significant portion" of its future investment into alternative drive systems, CEO Rupert Stadler said in a statement from Ingolstadt.
Audi plans to expand its model range to include 60 different automobiles by 2020.
The Q5 luxury SUV is Audi's top-selling SUV in the U.S. Commercial fleets added 1,387 Q5 SUVs in 2013.
