Ford Motor Co. is issuing a safety compliance recall of 2,590 2015 model-year Ford F-150 SuperCrew trucks in the U.S. to replace the front safety belt retractor and pretensioner assembly.
The safety belt assembly might have improperly secured pretensioner cables, Ford said. As a result, the seat belts may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash. However, the automaker noted that it isn’t aware of any related accidents or injuries.
This compliance recall covers certain 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew trucks built at Dearborn Assembly Plant from Jan. 22 through March 17 of this year. In addition to the trucks in the U.S., the recall also affects 555 trucks in Canada and 73 in Mexico. This brings the total to 3,218 trucks in North America.
Ford dealers will remove and replace the front driver and/or passenger safety belt retractor and pretensioner assembly, Ford said. There will be no charge for this service.
