Ford and AT&T will bring high-speed connectivity to more than 10 million vehicles via Ford's new connected-vehicle technology SYNC Connect in the next five years.

AT&T's 4G LTE is powering SYNC Connect, Ford's high-speed connectivity technology, and will allow owners to remotely lock and unlock doors from anywhere, remotely start the vehicle or schedule a start time, use the built-in GPS system to locate parked vehicle on map, and view vehicle information, including fuel and battery level and tire pressure readings.

Ford’s SYNC Connect adds to the pre-existing SYNC, the automaker’s in-car entertainment and communication system that will be introduced in the U.S. and Canada in the spring with the 2017 Escape mid-size SUV.

After the initial rollout in North America, SYNC Connect is launching in global markets, adding another 10 million connected vehicles by 2020. More than 15 million vehicles are currently equipped with Ford SYNC technology.
