GM Recalls SUVs for Seat Frame Welding

General Motors is recalling 2,633 2016 model-year Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave SUVs because of potentially misplaced welds for the third-row, left-lower seat frames, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

The vehicles at issue were manufactured Nov. 6-12 in 2015. If the seat frames in these vehicles weren’t welded in the proper places, seat occupants may be at a greater risk for injury during a crash, NHTSA said. GM dealers will inspect the third-row, left-side lower seat frames and replace them if needed.

Vehicle owners can reach Chevrolet customer service at (800) 222-1020, GMC customer service at (800) 462-8782 or Buick customer service at (800) 521-7300. GM's number for this recall is 21930.
