Green Is the New Black

biodiesel and clean dieselsAccording to research performed by the Fuels Institute, a diesel engine will power 95 to 97 percent of all commercial vehicles by 2023. As the number of commercial and passenger vehicles being powered by a diesel engine increase, so are the creations of technology in order to meet fuel economy regulations. The United States has strict emission reduction requirements, so more fuel economy regulations are being put in place due to the increase of diesel vehicles. Diesel Technology Forum reports that the anticipated growth in clean diesel vehicles along with the growth of clean diesel technologies are expected to contribute to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and fuel use. The clean diesel technologies that are being created in accordance to U.S regulations are estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.2 billions tons between 2014 and 2027.

Innovation in clean diesel technologies such as advanced engine designs, exhaust after treatment solutions, and next generation bio-based diesel fuel are not only help to reduce Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, but also help to reverse the effects of climate change. Research performed by the Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) is predicting the United States will cut GHG emissions by at least 26 percent by 2025.

Next generation bio-based diesel fuels are helping reduce the use of fossil fuels. Biodiesel is good for the environment because it is derived from agricultural feedstock, soybeans, and animal fats and can reduce carbon emissions by an astounding 50 percent according to the U.S Environmental Protection Agency.
