The Michigan Department of Transportation reports that, given winter weather predicted for earlier this week, an overnight, full closure on I-96 at Aurelius Road in Lansing has been rescheduled for the night of Wednesday, March 2. The closure is needed so crews can remove the bridge deck at Aurelius Road over I-96 and will take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following day, weather depending.
Eastbound I-96 — Total road closure starting at Cedar Street with a detour posted that includes Cedar Street, I-496, and U.S. Highway 127. The eastbound on-ramps will be closed at Lansing Road, M-99 and Cedar Street.
Westbound I-96 — Total road closure starting at U.S. 127 with a detour posted that includes U.S. 127 and I-496. The westbound I-96 on-ramp from U.S. 127 also will be closed during this time. For more to-the-minute road updates, follow our Roads 511 aggregated list of state DOT and 511-service Twitter profiles below or via this link.
