Ford Motor Co. is recalling 2,288 2016 model-year Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks in the U.S. to inspect and replace tires as needed.

The trucks' tires could have been damaged from a conveyor during assembly, according to Ford. In some cases, the sidewall damage could cause a rupture during use, resulting in rapid air loss and increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford said it isn’t aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to this condition.

The affected vehicles include 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks built at Kentucky Truck Plant April 5-10 of this year. In addition to the recalled trucks in the U.S., Ford is recalling 271 trucks in Canada and 37 in Mexico.

Dealers will inspect the tires for inboard sidewall damage and replace them, as needed, at no cost to the customer, Ford said.
