As part of the ongoing remodeling project at our Corona-Magnolia cardlock location, we are pleased to announce the expansion of our capabilities to provide B20 biodiesel (B20) fuel to our customers. B20 is a blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel.
B20 is currently available in five of our lanes at this site with more to follow. On average, B20 at our site is $.07 (seven cents) cheaper per gallon than regular diesel fuel. This could present a significant cost savings for your fleet.
We have provided you a link to the National Biodiesel Board (NBB) website which contains relevant information and resources.
Here is a direct link to the NBB’s support summary, which indicates the current level of warranty support for B20 use by the various truck engine manufacturers. The information provided is very straightforward, but If you have any questions or concerns, we recommend that you consult with your specific OEM representative.
Downs Fuel Transport, the delivery agent for, and sister company of Downs Energy, currently has six heavy duty, 3 axle trucks in its fleet using B20 on an exclusive basis. These trucks have engines from three different OEM’s and range in age from a 1990 to a 2015.
