Hyundai's Genesis brand will offer its G80 mid-size luxury model for at least $42,350 and, like the Hyundai Genesis, offer two engine options and optional all-wheel drive.
The 2017 G80 will be powered by a 3.8L V-6 or 5.0L V-8 in standard rear-wheel drive. The G80 3.8L is the entry model. All-wheel drive adds $2,500. The G80 5.0L retails for $55,500.
The G80 arrives with an array of safety and driver-assisting technology including automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane keep assist with a rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, pre-safety seat belts, and Smart Cruise Control with stop-start. An 8-inch touchscreen displays navigation and rear-view camera images.
Genesis is building the G80 at its Ulsan, Korea, plant. The vehicle will arrive at dealer lots this month.
