Apple has shuttered parts of its self-driving car initiative and laid off dozens of employees who were working on the initiative, the New York Times reports.
The retrenchment comes after two years of growth of the project, which was code-named Titan. In July, Apple had hired company veteran Bob Mansfield to lead the effort.
With the move, the Silicon Valley technology company would fall behind its peers including Google, Tesla, Uber and other technology firms pursuing self-driving vehicle initiatives.
