Hyundai Motor Co. is recalling 602 2016-model year Sonata sedans so dealers can replace the driver’s frontal air bag modules, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The vehicles involved were manufactured from March 28 to April 12 of this year. In these cars, the driver-side frontal air bag may not adequately protect the driver’s neck from injury during a crash, NHTSA said on its website. As a result, the vehicles don’t comply with all federal safety standards.

Hyundai dealers will replace the air bag modules at no charge. Vehicle owners can reach Hyundai customer service at (800) 633-5151. The automaker's number for this recall is 148.
