On an unseasonable cool June day, automotive journalists had the opportunity to test FCA’s complete lineup of sedans, trucks, and vans at the Chelsea Proving Grounds. Attendees had a number of different driving opportunities, including a closed highway-type track consisting of both smooth and uneven road surfaces, an autocross course, a high-speed braking course, and an off-road course (specific to test Jeep products).
Among the centerpieces of the 2017 lineup is the all-new Pacifica. Attendees had the opportunity to drive the full-size minivan on the highway track. In addition, a demonstration showed how the van can be transformed from a passenger vehicle to a cargo van with just a few steps. Also on display (but not available for driving) was the Pacifica hybrid.
In addition to the full lineup of Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge products, the Fiat lineup was available for testing, including the 500X crossover and the 500L. Fleet favorites Chrysler 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee demonstrated during the driving tests why these models resonate with fleets.
