American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 350,083 2016-model year Honda Civic two-door and four-door 1.5L turbo and 2.0L cars because of potentially faulty electric parking brakes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“The electric parking brake (EPB) may not engage if it is applied immediately after turning the ignition off,” NHTSA said on its website. “If the EPB is not applied, the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.

Honda dealers will update the vehicle’s software to allow the EPB to engage immediately after the ignition is turned off. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall is expected to begin Nov. 8. Vehicle owners can reach Honda customer service at (888) 234-2138. Honda’s number for this recall is KC6.
