Fiat-Chrysler's Jeep will expand its Renegade subcompact SUV nameplate, by introducing the Deserthawk and Altitude special edition models to expand off-road capability and enhance appearance.
The new subcompact SUVs will arrive in January as 2017 model-year vehicles.
The Jeep Renegade Deserthawk expands from the Trailhawk model by adding the Trailer Tow Group, all-weather floor mats, a cargo tray mat, painted 17-inch wheels, and other features.
The Deserthawk is powered by the 2.4L Tigershark paired with a 9-speed transmission and four-wheel drive. It can tow up to 2,000 pounds, and includes a Rock terrain mode and hill-descent control. It will retail for $28,140 and arrive in January.
The Jeep Renegade Altitude offers a blacked-out look with 18-inch gloss black wheels and other styling details. The Altitude will retail for $22,390 when it arrives later this month.
