Mazda North American Operations is recalling 912 2010- and 2011-model year Tribute vehicles because of potential fuel leaks that pose a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
The SUVs were manufactured from March 3, 2009, to May 26, 2011. In vehicles with a 3.0L engine, the fuel delivery module may crack and cause a fuel leak that increases the risk of fire in the presence of an ignition source, NHTSA said.
Mazda dealers will replace the fuel delivery module flange with one that has a redesigned fuel supply port. There will be no charge for this service.
The recall is expected to begin Dec. 15. Vehicle owners can reach Mazda customer service at (800) 222-5500. Mazda's number for this recall is 0416J.
