Chevrolet Begins Delivering Bolt EV

Chevrolet delivered the first three 2017 Bolt EVs to retail customers in the San Francisco Bay area today, the automaker announced.

The cars were delivered to William "Bill" Mattos, a retired law enforcement officer from Fremont, whose new Bolt EV becomes his third Chevrolet electric, after previously owning a Spark EV and second-generation Volt; Bobby Edmonds, a software developer with a family of four from Castro Valley, who replaces a BMW i3 with the Bolt EV; and Steve Henry, a commercial real estate broker with a family of five from Portola Valley, whose new Bolt EV replaces a Toyota Prius.

The Bolt EV has been named Motor Trend Car of the Year and finalist for North America Car of the Year. It delivers an EPA-rated 238 miles of driving range and retails for $37,495 before federal and state tax credits.

Other Bolt EVs are now in transit to California and Oregon and will arrive this month. A national rollout begins in 2017, when it will begin arriving in New York, Massachusetts, and Virginia.
