BMW's 530e iPerformance hybrid sedan will retail for at least $52,395, while the all-wheel-drive model will start at $54,695, BMW announced at the Detroit auto show.
BMW's eDrive system pairs an electric motor with a 4-cylinder 2.0L TwinPower Turbo internal combustion engine for a plug-in hybrid system. Combined system output of 248 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of peak torque allows the BMW 530e to reach 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds and the BMW 530e xDrive iPerformance Sedan in 5.8 seconds.
The vehicle will arrive in showrooms in the spring.
