Mercedes-Benz is showing a Metris concept van at the Chicago Auto Show that's designed to highlight its new MasterSolutions ship-through upfitting program.

The blue-and-grey Metris has been equipped with Ranger Design and Sortimo by Knapheide shelves, racks and removable cases that are visible when the van's side opens like a tool-box lid.

Other equipment includes a durable tile flooring system that ensures grip for work boots and is easily removable for thorough cleaning. A clear, plastic partition from Ranger Design keeps the driver safely divided from the cargo area while also allowing for easy monitoring of the van’s payload. Wheels finished in bright blue and silver, realistic toolbox latches and a handle on the roof compliment the special exterior wrap created for the Metris MasterSolutions Toolbox Van, according to the company.

The Metris MasterSolutions Toolbox Van was built by RENNtech and is based on the Metris Worker cargo van. A year ago, Mercedes-Benz showed its Sprinter Extreme concept van at the Chicago Auto Show.

The Metris is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder engine that makes 208 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It can haul 2,500 pounds of payload and tow up to 5,000 pounds.
