Nissan North America is recalling 341,005 2015- to 2017-model year Nissan Altima cars so dealers can correct the rear door latch and lock cable routing, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The rear door latch and lock cable on the vehicles may have been improperly routed. As a result, lowering a rear window may inadvertently cause that door to unlatch and open.
“If the rear passenger doors inadvertently open while the vehicle is in motion, it may increase the risk of injury to the rear passengers,” NHTSA warned on its website.
There will be no charge for the repair. Vehicle owners can reach Nissan customer service at (800) 647-7261.
