Volvo Cars will unveil a pair of 2018 models at the Chicago Auto Show, including the XC90 Excellence plug-in hybrid SUV and V90 Cross Country luxury wagon, the automaker has announced.
The V90 Cross Country will use Scalable Product Architecture underpinnings and provide capability for off-road driving conditions. The vehicle was tested in Sweden in minus-40 degrees as well as in Arizona in high temperatures.
The V90 will retail for $55,300 when it goes on sale in March.
The XC90 Excellence PHEV two-row mid-size SUV offers a spacious cabin with second-row seats that are the same as first-row seating. The reclining seats offer broad, spacious individual reclining rear seats complete with massage, ventilation and increased leg room, as well as a retractable control touchscreen, folding tables, a refrigerator with bottle and glass holders, a heating-and-cooling cup holder and handmade crystal glasses from Swedish glass design company Orrefors.
The Volvo XC90 Excellence is powered by Volvo’s 400-hp T8 Twin-Engine plug-in hybrid electric powertrain with an Orrefors crystal gear shifter. The XC90 Excellence meets the same safety standards as the XC90 T8 Inscription, Momentum and R-Design, according to Volvo.
It will retail for $104,500. It's arrival date hasn't been announced.
