General Motors is recalling 2,085 2017-model year Buick LaCrosse sedans because the electrical connectors for the electronic power steering system may not be properly sealed, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
As a result, water may enter and corrode the connectors, possibly leading to a loss of power steering.
“A loss of power steering may result in increased manual steering effort, increasing the risk of a crash,” NHTSA warned on its website.
GM dealers will inspect and correct the seal seating and secure the electronic power steering connector seals. There will be no charge for this service.
Vehicle owners can reach Buick customer service at (800) 521-7300. GM’s number for this recall is 17085.
