Kia Motors Australia is giving Australian police departments and government agencies an opportunity to trial the 2018 Kia Stinger to consider implementation into their fleets.

The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol Kia Stinger being trialed produces 190kw (255 hp) of power and 353Nm (260 lb.-ft. of torque), according to Car Advice

The West Australia Police, together with police in Victoria and Queensland, have asked for police pursuit versions and these are now being built, according to The West Australian

The Stinger is expected to be priced from about $42,000 when it becomes available later this year, with three versions of the 2.0-litre and three of the 3.3-litre bi-turbo V6.

Safety features on the Kia Stinger include: autonomous emergency braking, forward collision assistance, advanced smart cruise control, and blind spot detection, according to the automaker.
