DHL eCommerce has launched a business to consumer domestic delivery operation with customer-centric solutions in Chile.
DHL eCommerce, which is a division of logistics company Deutsche Post DHL Group, will offer next-day delivery in Santiago and other major cities within Chile, as well as two to three day delivery across the rest of the country, according to the company. DHL eCommerce’s investment in Chile includes a 17,889 square-foot central hub and depot and a growing ground fleet.
The organization will manage the end to end delivery of packages from the store to the customer, with real-time tracking also available, the company stated in a release.
“Chile is one of the most advanced e-commerce markets in Latin America with 72% internet penetration and 50% smartphone penetration – the highest in the region. With e-commerce currently accounting for 2.8% of the country’s total retail sales, there is plenty of room for growth,” said Hugo Donoso, Country Manager, DHL eCommerce Chile.
The Chilean e-commerce sector is set to double its size to $2.3 billion by 2020, according to the company.
