BMW of North America is recalling 206 BMW M760Li xDrive sedans in the 2017 and 2018 model years because of potential oil leaks, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
These vehicles may have had the wrong engine oil cooler line installed, causing an oil leak in the engine compartment, NHTSA said. If oil leaks onto the front brake discs, a greater distance may be needed to stop the vehicle. This condition poses a safety risk.
BMW dealers will replace the engine oil cooler line, free of charge, to fix the problem. The recall is expected to begin Aug. 7.
Vehicle owners can reach BMW customer service at (800) 525-7417. This recall overrides a previous recall (17V-240).
