Fiat India Automobiles and FCA rolled out India's first locally-produced Jeep Compass.
The Jeep Compass is the OEM’s first SUV to be produced in India and was developed at the automaker’s Ranjangaon plant, according to the automaker. This production follows China, Brazil and Mexico as a manufacturing and exporting hub for the SUV.
The Jeep Compass will be in full production in India this July and vehicles are expected to arrive at Indian dealerships during the third quarter of 2017 in three variants: Sport, Longitude and Limited.
Locally, the Compass will come equipped with various combinations of diesel and petrol engines paired with manual and automatic transmissions, according to FCA.
