Hyundai Motor America's U.S. sales chief, Derrick Hatami, is leaving the company after sales fell 18% in May, the company has confirmed to Automotive News.
Hatami had rejoined Hyundai in September of 2015, after less than a year as Nissan's U.S. sales chief. Hatami had replaced Bob Pradzinski, who left abruptly that August. Hatami reported to CEO Dave Zuchowski, who was fired in December.
Hyundai sales, including its Genesis luxury division, have fallen 7.5% to 283,547 units through the first five months of 2017.
