2018 F-150 Adds Power, Payload Capability

Ford has boosted the power and efficiency of its F-150 for the 2018 model year with improvements that increase payload, towing capability, and fuel economy, Ford has announced.

The 2018 F-150 arrives with more engine choices. Its more fuel-efficient second-generation 2.7-liter EcoBoost has an EPA estimated rating of 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined, according to Ford.

When it goes on sale later this year, the 2018 F-150 will arrive with a new, 13,200-pound tow rating enabled by more powerful, efficient engine offerings that now featuring standard auto start-stop and expanded availability of the 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

New driver assisting features include Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Ford is also offering an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
