This announcement was made less than a month after Ford Otosan shutdown another one of its production plants in Turkey. The joint venture shut down its production for its plant in Yenkikoy in late July due to a supply shortage of a transmission known as IB5 produced in France, according to Bloomberg.
The transmission is being replaced by a modern transmission known as the MX65, which will also be implemented into a new version of the Ford Fiesta.
