General Motors will lay out its "vision for an autonomous future" during a webcast with investors on Thursday, the automaker has announced.

The company will provide Wall Street analysts with an announcement about "advanced" autonomous technology and affirm its goal to be a key competitor in ride-sharing, according to Guggenheim, a Wall Street firm. Emmanuel Rosner, a analyst with the firm, commented on the company's "notable optimism" about autonomous vehicles in a note to clients, reports CNBC.

General Motors is building a fleet of autonomous Bolt EVs at its Orion Assembly Plant in Michigan with Cruise Automation, a San Francisco-based research facility acquired by GM in March of 2016. In April, GM announced it invested $14 million in a new research and development facility for Cruise Automation.
