Mazda will introduce a new utility vehicle in the U.S. market in 2021 that will be built at a new plant the automaker is building in a a partnership with Toyota, the company's CEO announced.
The vehicle will complement Mazda's existing SUV lineup that includes the CX-3, CX-5, and CX-9, Masamichi Kogai told Automotive News.
The new assembly plant will be able to produce 155,000 vehicles per year, and its full capacity will be reserved for the new crossover utility vehicle.
The new SUV could slot in between the CX-5 and CX-9 as a replacement for the discontinued CX-7, according to Autoblog.
