General Motors will launch the Chevrolet Bolt EV in the Middle East market, going on sale in Dubai by the end of 2018.
The Bolt EV, which can achieve roughly 238 miles of range, will also later be available in Amman, Jordan, reported Forbes Middle East.
In September 2017, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy announced incentives to encourage community members to use electric and hybrid vehicles, and promote the use of sustainable transport, according to a release from the Government of Dubai. Drivers of electric and hybrid vehicles may utilize free public parking and charging, toll-fee exemption, and discounts on electric car registrations.
There are currently 100 electric car charging stations in Dubai with plans to increase to 200 in 2018, according to Forbes Middle East.
Other notable specs for the Bolt EV include its ability to store approximately 90 miles of range on a 30-minute charge. It offers 200 hp and 266 lb.-ft. of torque.
