Fiat-Chrysler has opened its second Mopar parts distribution center in 2017, this one located in the metro Detroit area. The 500,000-square-foot facility will ship 45 million parts annually, the automaker announced.

The $10.4 million center has joined 22 other facilities in North America, and will employee more than 100 workers, according to FCA. This investment is designed to generate ancillary economic opportunities for services of local businesses, including building and machine maintenance, transportation, janitorial management, landscaping and more.

Earlier this year, the automaker opened a Mopar parts distribution center in Winchester, Va., according to the automaker. FCA US has invested $22.6 million in U.S. parts distribution network in 2017, representing 170-plus U.S. jobs.

Mopar has global footprint of 50 parts distribution centers worldwide.
