Ford Motor Co. is recalling approximately 92 2018 Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC vehicles for incorrect front brake jounce hoses because they may encounter interference with adjacent components, which can cause premature wear that leads to a brake fluid leak. A brake fluid leak may result in extended stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash.
To fix the problem, dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the front right-hand and/or left-hand brake jounce hoses at no cost to vehicle owners.
The vehicles involved include 2018 Ford Escapes built at Louisville Assembly Plant from Oct. 29-30, 2017, as well as 2018 Lincoln MKCs built at Louisville Assembly Plant on Oct. 29, 2017.
Ford’s reference number for this safety recall is 18S04.
